A beloved scent, transformed
Scent has always been part of ritual. Long before it was bottled or branded, it was burned as incense. Sweet Smoke is our first home fragrance, a collaboration with Cremate London.
The Anatomy of Sweet Smoke
Sweet Smoke is a sum of its parts. Each scent note was chosen to awaken the senses and bring grounding to your space.
-
TOP NOTES
Neroli is the blossom of the bitter orange tree. Bright, citrusy, with a honeyed sweetness. Lavender brings an herbal and aromatic quality to the scent.
-
HEART NOTES
Black pepper adds a dry, spicy warmth while sandalwood is creamy and woody, the note that gives Sweet Smoke its richness and depth.
-
BASE NOTES
The smoke from the cone adds a dry, woodiness that lingers along with vanilla which softens the scent with a familiar sweetness.
The Lineage of Sweet Smoke
Scent has always been part of ritual. But we're not the first to use it. Our ancestors have been using scent to fill spaces for centuries.
Somalia
This is a dabqaad, a traditional Somali incense burner carved from white clay. For millennia, it has been used to burn uunsi (aromatic resin) to freshen homes and warmly welcome guests.
Nigeria
In Northern Nigeria, incense is called Turaren Wuta or "fire perfume." It's burned daily in the home in a clay pot called a Kasko. It's usually lit in preparation for welcoming guests into the home. Sweet Smoke comes from that same tradition.
Egypt
In Egypt incense is known as Kyphi, the ultimate spiritual offering, used to connect the earthly world with the divine. Incense was also a powerful healing substance for both the body and the mind.
Behind the collaboration
We worked with two talented creatives to make Sweet Smoke come to life. Their creative practices align with the world that Dibia exists in. Here's a little information about them.
Cremate London
We reached out to Cremate to hand dip incense cones into our signature Sweet Neroli & Sandalwood scent. Cremate is a London-based lifestyle brand founded by Junior Adesanya. There was a genuine synergy between Dibia and Cremate in the way both brands are rooted in ritual and intention.
Adryan Abii-Smith
Adryan is a New York and London based illustrator whose work centres the Black body. For Sweet Smoke, he created an original illustration. An exploration of sensuality and the body.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many cones are in each tin?
Each tin contains 30 hand-dipped incense cones.
How long does each cone burn for?
Each cone burns for approximately 30 minutes.
How do I use Sweet Smoke?
Place the cone on a heatproof surface. Light it and let the flame linger for around 15 seconds until the tip glows, then blow it out gently. A thin trail of smoke will begin to rise and fill your space.
Is Sweet Smoke safe to use indoors?
Yes. Always burn on a heatproof surface, away from flammable materials, and never leave a lit cone unattended.
What surface should I burn it on?
Use a heatproof incense holder or dish that can catch any ash. Avoid burning directly on wood, fabric, or other surfaces that could be damaged by heat.
What does Sweet Smoke smell like?
Sweet Smoke opens with bright neroli and lavender, deepens into black pepper and sandalwood, and settles into a base of vanilla and smoke. It's the same Sweet Neroli & Sandalwood fragrance found in our Sacred Radiance Body Oil and Body Butters, now in the air.
Can I use Sweet Smoke alongside my Sacred Radiance Body Oil?
Yes. They share the same fragrance, so layering them together, oil on the skin, incense in the room, creates one continuous scent experience.
Is this a limited edition?
Yes. Sweet Smoke is a collaboration with Cremate London and is available in limited quantities. Once it's gone, it's gone.
Who made the packaging illustration?
The Sweet Smoke packaging features original artwork by illustrator Adryan Abii-Smith.
